Zach is a 5 month old staffordshire bull terrier cross rottweiler and is currently on foster in cardiff.

The Zach Fact File
Dog status: Good with the dogs he lives with, currently waiting for vaccinations to be assessed with dogs on walks
Cat status: Very good, currently living with 6 cats
Child status: Nervous around people in general, would not be suitable with young children
House training: Work in progress
Home alone: Can be left for short periods and has been crate trained, not suitable for a full time worker.
Basic training: Blank canvas, he will be starting training classes with her foster mum very soon to get the ball rolling for his new home.

Zach - Rehomed Zach

Zach came in to our care following a sheltered start in life. He has not experienced the full wide world and he is a shy and nervous boy as a result. Once he gets to know someone he will warm up and be affectionate but he is shy around new people. He will be looking for a paitent new home who can bring her out of her shell with love and patience. Due to his nervy nature he would not be suitable for a home with young children.

Zach is living with two other dogs as well as his sister Kia and is very good with them. He could be rehomed with canine company or as the only dog.
He is living with 6 cats from the age of 6 months upwards and is very well behaved with them.

Zach is not yet fully housetrained and this is a work in progress. He has been introduced to a crate and will settle in it nicely when he has been left for short periods by his foster mum.
Please note we do not rehome puppies to full time workers.

Zach is due to begin training classes with his foster mum very soon to lay the foundations for walking nicely on a lead and learning basic manners. It is recommended that his adopter attend training classes for further help and socialisation.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered (if over 6 months), vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and micro-chipped prior to adoption. If a puppy is not old enough to be neutered then this must be carried out at the owner’s expense when old enough, and the relevant form completed by the vet and returned to Hope Rescue. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk

Zach loves walking with me and running! We now have to run up our hill because he loves it so much! Then he looks at me when we are at the top with his curious eyes with the expression "hmm I wonder wants wrong with my human...why is she looking so pale!" ha
He is sooooo handsome! We have been on lots of pubilc walks and he is reacting very well with all the other dogs, he just wants to play! Not so keen on people still, he hides behind me giving me save me eyes! So still working on human contact!

Today was the first day I let him loose in my field! Hilarious he was! He first stayed where I took his lead off, you could hear the cogs moving in his brain.....so I keep walking with my other dogs and then............................along came Zach at the speed of light with his wobbley back legs (very staffie!) jumping like a deranged deer over the tall grass towards me with the biggest happy face Ive ever seen on a dog! He came running straight to me and his tail was wagging so much I thought his bum would fall off!

So sucess! he is quite clingy still but hes getting better everyday, I leave for 5 mins here and there and have noticed he doesnt whine, but if im gone for too long he starts whining again....working progress but he is only a wee chappy!

So today we spent the day together (off lead ) trotting around doing jobs, getting fired wood, hanging up washing etc, stealing my fire wood. He met our little farm cat today, went well as he is good with cats anyway. My cat wasn’t overly pleased that Zach wasn’t at all bothered by her and she really wasn’t pleased by the big sloppy kiss he gave her! (kissed the girls and made um cry) but I’m sure he'll win her over just as he does everyone else!
