Obi - Rehomed
Obi is a 12 month old Staffordshire bull terrier and is currently on foster in Treharris, South Wales.
The Obi Fact File
Dog status: Good out on walks but would do best as the only dog in a new home
Cat status: Unknown
Child status: Good but bouncy, could be rehomed with children over the age of 8 years
House training: Good
Home alone: Has been fine for the short periods he has been left by his foster carer
Basic training: Good
The cold winters nights are drawing near and what better way to warm yourself up than cuddles on the settee from Obi. This is one loving, tactile and adorable dog. Do not miss out on the chance to be his new family.
Obi has settled very well in his foster home after a spell in kennels. He has shown himself to be house trained, good on the lead, good with other dogs out on walks and a confident and well socialised dog.
Obi is around 12 months old but no one has the decency to tell him this fact. He is still under the impression that he is just a pup. He can still have his mad moments and is full of mischief. He is looking for a new owner who can give him calm, consistent feedback and guidance through positive reinforcement.
Obi previously lived with another foster home who had a male dog and they did not get along. This means he will be best rehomed as a single dog. He could possibly be rehomed with a calm, sociable female. He is good with dogs he meets out on his walks. He has not been cat tested and is a complete unknown quantity in that department.
Obi's foster carer has only had him for a couple of weeks so far and has been building any time along gradually as he settles in. He has now been left for a couple of hours and has shown no sign of being distressed or upset. That being said he would not be rehomed with a full time worker as we do not know how he would react to being left for longer periods and he is still a young lad at heart.
He is not looking for a new home where he will be ignored and side lined. Obi will bloom in a home where he is included in everything and gets lots of love and affection. Without this he will not reach his full potential (and he has a lot of potential).
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk
