newbie for you :D
hey all *stands up and takes a bow*
my name's kelly and i'm.... oh no wrong forum....
my name's kelly and i'm a staffy lover, phew that's better i think i got away with that one!
i live in the southwest with my 2 rescue pooches, tilly who is my newest is just about a year old, total nutcase, very unsure of her breeding but i strongly suspect collie/staff cross, she was originally a foster dog but got on so well with my other dog i couldnt part with her
holly is my baby, another rescue but i won't bore you with stories unless you want to know, she originally came to me 2 years ago and it's taken all this time to get her right, she still has scarring both mental and physical which will never leave her but we work with it, i also suspect she's a cross, evrey inch a staffy in build, but standing at 12 and a half inches to the shoulder she's a dinky little thing with whopping great flappy ears,
i now show both of them and with holly i have done very well over the last 12 months
anyway i hope you're not bored yet.. and looking forward to getting to know you!
xx

Hi and welcome from Rocky and me. Rocky is also a Staffy/Collie cross. He has the look of a small Staffy but without the large head they can have. He will always try to herd other dogs when we are out for a walk. Rocky will also herd my hubby or me into the bedroom when a cuddle is required. Hope you have fun , you couldn't bore us honest.

Re: newbie for you :D
okies here it is then be prepared for piccy overload!
first up is tilly
this pic was taken an hour after her arriving as a foster dog, at about 9 months old she had already spent 3 months of her life in emergency boarding and been 10 minutes away from being PTS as her time was up.
she loves looking at herself in any reflective material..
holly is a slightly different case, she went into a centre as a stray, i went up to the centre to go and view another dog, but walking past her kennel something drew me to find out what was inside, i was told a staffy and i asked to have a look. the sight that greeted me made me and mum both cry, to say she was emaciated was an understatement, she had been stray for a while by the looks of it, she was riddled with fleas lice and ticks, over 30 adults pulled off her and many more sprayed apparently, she had no nails, just red raw quik.
if i've ever seeen anything that had ever given up on life, this was it, terrified out of the kennel she tried to bolt for the door, so i went into her kenneel and sat with her for over an hour simply talking and stroking her, she wouldnt look up at all, cutting a long story short i knew she had to be mine, as she was a stray she had to wait her week out but i had already reserved her,
so a week later (30th november 2009) came along a van containing precious cargo, the homecheck was done and holly (known as angel at the time) was left with me, she weighed in at under 11 kg of skin and bone, she didnt look like a staff, she was a skeleton. she had also been about 4 weeks off puppies, she was dried up but very saggy
i do have pics of her from back then, but are stuck on an old phone that doesnt work
so onto now... she still has scars, and still very nervous, but has huge fear at loud noises and goes into meltdown regularly with fireworks and shooting, but she is my angel... she's patient and loving and i know she will always be there to look after me, (goodness writing this is making me emotional! just had to wipe my eyes lol!)
she's now at 16 kg and built like a brick toilet block!
so maybe angel was a fitting name.. she is mine... enough of talking, onto some piccies!
her first ever show, winning a stafford class and coming 2nd in condition
caption contest please?
love this pic, don't know why.. but she didnt want to pose
and thats her posing.... lol!
will leave you with this one
the girls xx

What wonderful stories and pictures! I don't think it is possible to overload anybody on here with pictures. It is more of a demand than a request.

just found this pic i forgot to put in, this is holly with her saviour, the dog warden, he couldn't believe that she was still alive and we chatted for quite a while about her, after almost 2 years he still remembered picking her up and the state she was in, that's got to say something

Welcome from me and my girls Kita & Izzy.
What a beautiful if sad story, but with such a happy ending. Well done on giving your gorgeous pair a loving forever home.
I always think I've caught up with all the new members then I see a post I've missed almost a week before
Your pics are great, Holly has the most brilliant shiny coat and Tilly has such a gorgeous face (especially when her ears are up). Max is pretty cute too.
Looking forward to seeing much more of your girls.

Re: newbie for you :D
thank you Dogalogs88, yeah i must admit she is rather shiny, and she seems to be on whatever food too.. she was on Wagg for a long time in fact up until august this year, everyone hammered at me to go for arden grange, and although what's coming out is different... the pair of them don't look any worse or better for it hehehe, have put up in the staff thread their latest fad, with making it snow in my place lol
