Hello everyone, how are you all?

Sorry I haven't been on much. It's been manic here, kids have been so ill over the last few weeks and we have found it hard juggling that with everyday life, uni etc. Haven't had chance to sleep let alone nip on here. But back now we are on the road to recovery. I have uploaded some pictures of tinkerbell in the gallery, some festive one's for you to take a peek at should you wish.

A wanderer returns Empty Re: A wanderer returns

Post by Scubasteve Fri Dec 02 2011, 19:10

Thanks.

Yes kids are on the mend now. In the last 4 weeks they have each had 2 courses of antibiotics for chest infections, ear infections, throat infections and conjunctivitis. So been one bad time here Crying or Very sad And mostly down to a silly doctor refusing to treat them because she wanted nature to take its course and let things heal gradually.
All came to a head last week though when I took Harrison to the doctors for her to tell me there was nothing wrong and it was just a cold that would get better in time. 2 days later he was back again and extremely poorly only to see another doctor who told us he had a ear infection, chest infection and conjunctivitis in both eyes....my poor baby. And he wouldn't have had to have suffered for 2 days had the first doctor look at him properly. Hollie saw the same doctor this tuesday who told Ian she had a ear infection in both ears, and a throat infection. She prescribed antibiotics but told him not to go and get them for the next few days to see how she goes without banghead Needless to say a massive complaint is in the process of being written and we are in the middle of changing surgeries!

Sorry turned into a rant, doctor just has me fuming every time I think of it. How dare she leave a 2 year old and 4 year old so poory, and the illnesses have been going on for the last 4-5 weeks so they obviously need help to fight it all not be left longer for nature to take its course Sad

I know that docs are trying to lessen the use of antibiotics, and I applaud that, but children of that age should be treated a little differently - if they're poorly & it isn't clearing then they need a little help!

Glad everyone's on the mend now, though - good to see you back.

Thanks Caryll, and yes I certainly agree with you there. Ian and I both had whatever they had weeks ago but after a week it cleared. It obviosuly needed an extra help with the kids though especially as this is there second course of antibs in the last few weeks.

Glad to be back though!

Welcome back Smile
Glad everyone is starting to feel a bit better. I can understand dr's wanting hold back antibiotics but it should be different with children and the elderly

Thanks for the welcome backs.

Kathy, we have a great doctor at the surgery but he only works part time. He is fab with the kids though. He knows that I only ever take them if things are bad, and I am not one of these that takes them at the first sign of a cold etc. Just hoping the new surgery we join has some decent doctors too. Gutted though as we moved house 10 months ago, but the last doctor we had was the best I have ever had, and I will never find one as good as her.

Thanks Shontelle, I think she is looking great but I am biased Laughing
