A real Nanny Dog!

So my wife and I are blessed with a 4 Month Old healthy baby Boy... Henry our 14 month old staffy is very gentle with hime and has done some amazing things latley...

First I started to notice that when the baby wakes up and crys a little or is cross, he always goes to check and make sure he is ok.. often looking to me or my wife as to say, hey he needs tending to.

This week my 3 and 4 year old nepew and niece came over, while "lil Cliff" was sleeping on the sofa... we had gotten up to greet everyone in, the kids ran into the media room loud, looking for the baby. Henry knowing the baby was asleep, rounded them off and blocked the sofa, giving them little friendly bark while bowing down as to not intimidate to much, but totally blocking them so they couldnt bobbard him. Amazing.

Next... after a great meal with everyone, lil Cliff was put upstairs for his nap, with my wife and I poking our head in to cahck him now and then.... So my wife is in the kitchen cleaning up, all of a sudden Henry comes up to her barking slightly and aiming her towward the stairs, a few times until she went up and found the baby was awake and crying for hey a little... Again Amazing.

Hes a real Nanny Dog.

Congrats on your son! There are few greater joys than fatherhood. Such a great story about your dog and boy!

Ahh, that's awesome! Your son is going to grow up wit a friend for life there! They really are amazing dogs.

We adopted ours at 7 years of age earlier this year, so haven't had him since he was a pup. But right from the beginning, he goes into our 11y/o son's room at night after he's gone to sleep, and checks on him. He'll go right up to the bed, sniff him a bit then go out and back to his own bed, which is just outside Lliam's door. It's so sweet

I was a bit upset today, and Vlad came straight over and sat at my feet... he's only a puppy and already he is "protecting" us.

I really think all these little stories should get put in a book. Then people would know the real side of Staffy's that never really gets portrayed in the press.

Rocky will often heard Andy my hubby into the bedroom for a cuddle, he really does heard him in, it's hilarious.

What an awesome idea!

Duke's also really sensitive. We're doing some building, and he's a bit unsettled at the moment. He wasn't quite sure what to do with himself yesterday, so I put him, plus a giant Greenies "toothbrush" and his bed in Lliam's room while Lliam was busy studying. Well, my dear son wasn't doing a very good job of the studying so I gave him a bit of a "talking to".

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Duke quietly take his toothbrush and himself outside to his little house in the garden, where he proceeded to demolish the toothbrush in peace
