Polly the "nanny" dog
I just thought I would share this with you all
2 weeks ago Busta my westie x JR died very suddenly Polly our year old little staffie girl went into a deep depression, not eating or playing or wanting to cuddle or anything. We had a family chat and decided that we would get a new dog to keep her company. We looked online at the RSPCA rescue that we got Polly through and they had a litter of Staffie pups who were almost 8 weeks old and still with their mother We popped in to look at them and have a chat with the staff and they said we could have one so a couple of days later we went back with Polly to see what she thought. Charlie chose us, and he is almost exactly the same markings and colour wise as Polly.
Hubby was worried she might not want a puppy in the house but how wrong was he
From the moment Polly met Charlie she was smitten, she has gone into full on "mum" mode which is quite amazing as the litter she came from was taken from their mother and dumped to die at only 4 weeks, before being taken to the rescue centre, and she was spayed at 6 months, so she is going on pure instinct.
Charlie has been with us for a week now and they are inseperable She is not in the least jealous of him, sharing her toys and allowing him to eat her food and she is very protective, keeping him away from anything she thinks is a danger to him. She is amazing, but what else would we expect from these wonderful dogs

They do look so happy with each other, as if they have been together for years. So pleased to hear that your sadness had a happy ending
