Peeing on me !!!!!

My 2 year old male (neutered) staffy for the first time ever cocked his leg on me TWICE this morning when we were heading out for our morning walk!!

I was heading down the road and bumped into my friend who walks my dog for me during the week when I'm at work. She has 2 dogs of her own (black labs) and at the time I saw her she had the younger one of her two dogs with her (who is currently 6 months old). My dog knows both her dogs well, albeit probably the older dog as they have known each other for about 18 months and play happily together. We are usually cautious of my dog and her younger dog as he has been known to have a couple of issues in the past so as she is still very young we keep them at a little distance. They are allowed to say hello and have quick a sniff of each other, but that's as far as it goes.

Anyway, whilst I was standing having a chat with my friend he cocked his leg on me!!! I was horrified as he had never done this before, then whist my friend was busy laughing her head off, he then did it on my other leg! He has never done anything like this before and is totally toilet trained and I've never had an incident indoors since I got him at 10 months old.

I've heard it could be a dominance issue or that he is claiming me. Is this the case?

I think it's a mistake. Nothing more sinister than that.

You were talking & there were other dogs around, and he just forgot himself. I wouldn't worry about it at all unless it happens again. Just watch him, and if you see him lining himself up, correct him before he gets a chance!

I wouldn't worry unless it happens again. He might just have been overexcited or confused.
