Water when crated?
For thoses that use crates, do you leave a bowl or use one of thoes giant hamster bottle things? Or something else?
I think i'm gonna get a giant bottle, cos Buddy would just tip a dish.
On the crate training itself, we hae good days and not so good days. For expample hes in it just now and has just wripped the tuding off the carpet in it and is now barking at me!! But yest he went in an settled no worries!!! i think he has multiple pesonality disorder! He is good at going to bed in it however!

Re: Water when crated?
We bought two bowls off ebay that have a clip around them to attach to the side of the crate door. We put it low enough for Tinkerbell to drink but high enough so she can't knock it. But with it clipped to the door she can't knock it over anyway! But she has only ever used this once because we leave the door open for her anyway. The door is only ever shut when I am trying to sort the evening meal out because she gets hungry and the gets start misbehaving so it is easier to know she is safe in her crate!

Great ideas. We don't really use anything as we very seldom close the door anymore. She just goes in on her own when she wants to be alone

I never put water in the crate. Too many chances for mishaps & also, if they drink regularly they'll want to pee! If they're asleep & it isn't too hot then they won't need water anyway.

I would suggest a coop cup like Lisa. A large hamster bottle type thing would not work it would just drip and possibly hurt your dogs tongue.

I don't put any water in their crates, plus they aren't in there very long.

Re: Water when crated?
i just put a bowl in there. If shes annoyed that we have been out she drowns a toy or rope (whatever shes taken in there) as a "see what you made me do" but i never have any mess problems from spillages.

Re: Water when crated?
Violets dad made her this for in her crate. It's pretty useless now though, as tiny little bowls like that are no use for her anymore! But it does mean she has access to a little water if she needs it.
