Can't leave my window open anymore...

I guess that I won't be leaving this window open anymore. In fact, when I'm not home, perhaps I better not leave any upstairs windows open. Seems M has begun pushing a little too much on the screen...

Might be a good idea to close them or not have them open enough for him to be able to fit through and lock it in place.

Suki runs right through our screen door at least once a week when she wants out. She has even escaped our backyard once and I thought that was impossible.

Its hard for me to explain my pen/house layout without a pic but basically Lexi has 3 2inch wooden doors, two metal gates, an 8ft wodden fence, 5ft wall and a barrel filled with concrete in it and she has got through all of them. And she doesn;t even leave a trace, she just turns up at the door looking all "tehehehe!!!"

I'm starting to think shes actually in my imagination and doesn't exist, i mean i have heard staffies are bulldozers but she really takes the *.

Holy jumpers Batman! That means she is quite the determined little lady! Monte doesn't normally go through the screens and has never tried to get away, but I'm not going to risk him getting hurt. Looking at that picture makes me think of Rapunzle for some reason...

No, but I am not going to risk it. If he fell from the roof, he'd fall on our concrete driveway. I'd be devastated.

You can never be too cautious when it comes to pets safety. Is it possible to have the windows open a little bit so that Monte can at least stick his head out the window?

Beautiful house! And, yeah, I'd keep the window closed after that!

Friends of mine have windows that open onto a flat roof (so not really an option for you) but they put railings up so the dogs can use it, now instead of going through the doors they switch rooms by going in and out the window!

Cute pic but I would also be worried, get a mesh or something so the windows can be open but doglet can't escape

lol. Thanks for the compliments on the house. We love it. We even have a bird sanctuary (which is pretty small but loads of birds). We might try opening slightly and putting some stops in so he can't open the window all the way, as he was going bonkers this AM because they were closed. He loves looking out over the cul-de-sac. I would love it if it were safer. The windows from our bedroom are on the top left of the picture and if he fell out there, there wouldn't be anything to save him. We are going to play it safe for now. Maybe we can rig something up inside, but most likely we will just replace the windows with ones that open from the top.

Your house is really beautiful! Yes please keep you windows upstaire shut, we had a member on here last year who had a beautiful staffy bitch. She was trapped upstairs and jumped out of the window to get to her owners when they called. Tragic and so sad

I was thinking the same thing.. I remember reading what happened and I cried my eyes out...

Ya. We have had them shut. Just a couple open a crack now (ones he can't push up or jump out of. We are not going to risk it. That was the first he had done that, but I think he'd do it again. Don't need any more heartbreaks this year, or any year for that matter. We lost Gimli only a few months ago and it tore our hearts out.

Great picture, but yes please do keep the windows shut! Bet he has a great view from there though, and I love the pics of your house. It is beautiful, loving the one of your children pulling boxes along
