How old is she now? They can get that strange metallic smell while teething, but she's already got her adult teeth or what!?

You can have your dog spade or castrated at 6 months according to my vet. My sister had her dog done at seven months without having a season first.

I had milly spayed before her first season. Some vets do spay them before some dont.Luckily vets for pets do thats where we took milly. They are not badly priced either only cost us 136 pound. And its also cheaper for a male castration

A metallic smell is often blood, so she may be coming into season - keep a very close eye on her & Blade!

This is a hotly contested subject. I feel that early spaying can cause more problems than it prevents.

hi caryll
What are these health implacations with spaying before a first season,Because when i spoke to my vet she told me that dogs that are spayed before a season are less prone to some cancers and also live a longer life

I'm not Caryll, but here's a good link for you: http://www.caninesports.com/SpayNeuter.html
IMO the hormones are there for a reason and it's risky to mess with them (at least more than "necessary"). It's illegal to spay/neuter here unless for health reasons, though, so I don't have to make the choice.
