One week to go!
....until i bring Sapphire home Gosh i'm so excited!
I went puppy shopping last week, got her bed, bankets, toys, treats, worming tabs, flea treatment, shapoo and all that other stuff to keep her healthy. All i have to do now is buy her food, but i can't get that until i know what she has been eating.
So anyways i thought i would share my excitement with you all
(bubye beige carpet, hello laminate until house training is complete )

Re: One week to go!
Yeah i'm prepared for all of that. I bought various Kong type toys, that i'm sure will last her only a week if im lucky lol. But apart from maybe one, they will all be used as treats for when she has been good, like going poopey outside etc.
This next week is gonna drag sooooooo much tho lol

Re: One week to go!
Rocky has a large Kong for mealtimes then a smaller one for treats. These have lasted the longest of all toys. Very tough and durable. You can also get one specific for puppys. Don't forget the carpet shampoo.

Oh, i'm sooooo excited for you.
And she may surprise you....and not destoy all of her toys etc..... I was lucky in that dept. My girl ( now 10months ) still has toys from when we first bought her home.
We expect updates when you get her

Re: One week to go!
sooo exciting waiting till you can bring them home. Laminate is a good idea, so much easier to clean (gonna have to shampoo the rug in the livingroom lol) Just watch out for the pee skating with laminate, bare feet, a little puddle you havent seen, and a very graceful slide across the room

Re: One week to go!
Well we currently have carpet in our living room which is in dire need of a change, our landlord has agreed to change it but he won't let us laminate because he would want the really good wooden stuff and he says due to the size of the room (8.5m x 6.5m) it would cost him a fortune, so we have to have carpet. SOOOOO for now we told him to hold off laying a new carpet until we house trained her.
This weekend we will be RE-puppy proofing the garden, we had an apple tree that we chopped down last weekend so we have created a complete mess which could be a little dangerous for her, adventurous but dangerous. We have even had to cover up a little gap in the fence so she doesn't get into the neighbours garden, the only problem with that is the little hedgehogs we have come visit every night won't be able to get in
Imsooo excited though, its mad cuz ive even started training her in my head if that makes sense.
Edit: Oooh and the breeder has been ever so kind and had all her injections done - her 2nd one is next thrusday and has said he is getting her micro-chipped too.

Re: One week to go!
I brought two tyre toys that seem to be a big hit. One is a small one that he likes his treats in and the other is a larger one that has a plaited cord (which is no longer plaited LMAO) they get a good chewing from him and so far have no signs of wear.
The beds cost us the most. He has three small beds and one large one which is apparently just a massive chew toy (lots of checking for fluff coming out but it keeps him amused for ages).
I'm sure you have already thought of it but don't forget the poo bags, I have specific doggy ones in a holder for when walks can finally begin and also a massive stock of cheap fragranced nappy sacks for use in the house and garden. The other thing I have stocks of is kitchen roll, we get through one every 2 days and then he gets to play with the tube LOL
I also have several friends giving me newspapers, we get through a lot. I was using the puppy training pads but they make one hell of a mess once they have been shreaded all over the house and they are expensive, he actually seems to prefer going on paper anyway.
Anyway, congratulations on your new arrival, not long now
