You'll find one, the climate at the moment is very disheartening, but you have to keep your confidence up even when you get knocked back, and I should know also been there.

If thats what you want to do go for it, something will go your way soon, and you never know you may still get this one! Don't be too hard on yourself and have positive thoughts Xx

Hi sweetie, hang in there. I know what you mean about working on the wards. If you don't get this one there will another, not sure how much exp you have in community nursing...?
Also not sure what you have where you are, but here in Oz we have community based nursing services - maybe you could look at doing some casual work or if you don't have it already a "wound care course".
I'm actually a dialysis nurse and a few years ago I felt the need to put my hand up for ED again. Looking back I must have been nuts, but when I was trying to get out of it I looked at comm nursing, one of the things that was suggested was I needed more wound care exp. Hello.......I'm working in Emerg, do I not see enough wounds day in and day out.....? doh

i have no vcommunity experience well i did a placement with school nurse and health visitor when i trained.
i want to be a childrens health visitor and this job is a way into that.
the ward i am on now is very community like we have a lot of drug addicted babies , social / child protection issues so it not like i have no idea what id be getting myself into.

Are there any support groups, volunteer agencies that you can spend a little of your free time at (or have done) where you can gain even more in depth experience that you then push forward in your interview.
I'm not midwife trained but a close friend in my home town is and she deals with this stuff all the time, she did some volunteer work at a community near where she lives and has now given a home to one of the young teenagers as the government funding has dried up. I don't know if I could do what she does, so I take my hat off to you.
I've worked in paediatrics and saw a lot of stuff that the public doesn't really see or know about (thankfully sometimes), so if this is where you feel your talent and heart is, don't give up - just keep going for it!!
Good luck thumbs up

Are there any areas that you could transfer to other than the ward that caused you so much anxiety and bullying...?
Are you able to discuss how you feel with an outside person of authority that isn't attached to this ward....? If so, will the bullying person/s be dealt with whereby you wont be affected by their behaviour, allowing you to work there comfortably....?
