Until 14 months I feed him Orijen and now he is on BARF. He is a very active pouch that loves to chase pigeons and rabbits 🤪.

Hi everyone, I don’t know if this is the best place on the forum to post this, but I have an issue with my staffy. For 6 months I have taken my staffy to a nearby dog park and he was very friendly with all the dogs (Labradors, American bulldog, Shar Pei etc.). Two weeks ago a new 2 years old pit bull was there and my dog tried to bully him, I took him out and we left. After two days we met again with that apbt and my dog was like in a hunting mode. At one point when they were smelling each other the apbt started to whine and my dog attacked him. Both are fine, no injuries. But I think I’m missing something. I don’t understand why he is aggressive with this dog. Thank you

That's a very difficult question to answer without seeing the body language.

Was the pitty intact?

Most of the dogs in this dog park are intact. Regarding the body language, mine is becoming very excited when he is seeing this dog. Tail up and stiff, ears up, strong body posture and is going straight into his face almost touching his nose. The other one has every time his back fur up and when he starts to whimper mine is becoming aggressive. They have the same color, maybe thats the issue

No, it won't be colour - it's two strong males facing off.

For a while, I'd keep him on a long line & call him back whenever this other dog is around.

I take it he's okay with other dogs?
