Embarrassing Even at Ten Years Old

My staffy Daisy is ten now and she went training classes for two years and did really well. But she still embarrasses me constantly, it's not just a puppy thing.

We bought a puppy frenchie a couple of months ago and Daisy thinks she is his mum, she loves him to bits. She could always greet dogs offlead and be no trouble but now she takes it upon herself to body barge with her chest every dog that says hello to the pup, it's like an ice-hockey player going in for a body check, but no aggression. So embarrassing, I laugh embarrassedly and apologise for her lack of doggy manners and swiftly walk on. I will be putting her back on her springy lead from now on.

It is sweet though, the other day I was straightening my hair and the pup was trying to chew the wires on the straighteners, I kept pushing him away and telling him "no". Daisy got up out of her bed, walked over to me and stood over the straightners and wouldn't let him near them, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, she is so amazing, I love her to bits, my crazy old Daisy

Daisy sounds lovely they are great at embarrassing you, she will look after him, amazing dogs.

They can be very protective of their dog friends. A friend and me took Flo and his Dog Molly for a walk through some local woods a while back. Molly is a Chihuahua X Scotty (I think), anyway she's quiet small with a large yap, anyhow, Flo and Molly rumble along and sometimes chase each other but that's rare, they just get on with the walk.

Now this particular walk we happened to walk straight into a GSD that took a rather unhealthy liking to Molly, Flo hadn't seen the GSD but must have sensed that Molly was uncomfortable with the attention as she did an about turn and literally chased the GSD away from Molly.

As soon as Molly was safe, off they trot in their own ways as if nothing had happened.

Thank you. I think she is a like a wise old monkey. I am sure I will never get one quite the same, she has been through thick and thin with me and always been there for me. She sits there with that regal look very still while my kids paint her nails, she doesn't move a muscle until they are dry, but she doesn't let me or hubby touch her feet, the kids can do anything though. Bless xx
