when is best to feed raw and biscuits

I am currently feeding my 7 month old staffy BlackHawks in the morning (about 1-1.5cup) and at night feeding him about 150gm raw chicken mince, some veges and rice....

Maybe a silly question but I have read it takes longer to digest the biscuits.... SO would it be better for my Bossy Boy to be fed the biscuits at night, so he can digest them overnight?!

My dog is on a fish based biscuit only diet (with the occasional tin of sardines chucked in) and he has 1 1/2 cup morning and night at 5pm.

It wont make a difference if you feed the biscuits in the morning or at night, either way, they will be digested.

Maybe you could do halfy halfy? Im not an expert on raw diet but could you not put some biscuits with the raw in the morning and same again at night?

New research has shown that dried complete dog food is actually digested quicker than raw, although not really by much!

It used to be recommended that you feed raw in the morning and dry at night, but it's still probably best not to mix the two in the same meal.

Interesting comment from gillybrent above as I have always been told raw digests quicker than dry biscuits. But I was reading through a website the other day where someone tested it with x-rays of the stomach and the biscuits actually digested quicker than the raw because they were all small pellet sized pieces where as the raw meat was swallowed in larger pieces!

So I'm not really sure which to go by...I guess it also varies per meal.

But either way, I think you'll be fine with biscuits in the morning and raw at night or the other way around. Personally, I wouldn't mix the two though incase the biscuits do keep the meat in the stomach longer, which can cause an upset tummy etc.

Have no experience with raw but most people feed raw first then biscuits later
