In Season Empty In Season

Post by Neil. Fri Jan 16 2015, 22:21

Hi All ,

Can i please ask advice ? , we have took on Roxi's sister Rosie who was rescued by her breeder from the person he sold her to , as when he checked up on her after a few months he found her to be in a terrible state , under nourished and just generally mistreated , for a 3 month old pup it was an awful start to life , needless to say he made an excuse to remove her from the house and never returned her.

As a result we ended up with her and she is now a happy 12 month old albeit with a few behavioural issues which we hope to eradicate totally in time , my question is that she has just entered her 2nd season and yesterday and today she has gone so lethargic , moping around , ears and tail firmly tucked down , this in sharp contrast to her usual mad self .... Now i am assuming that its all to do with her being in season , has anyone else seen these symptoms in their Staff during this time.
Thanks
Neil.

Lethargy and looking pretty sorry for herself isn't unusual unfortunately. Not sure about the shaking though.

My Flo will shake in certain situations so that in itself isn't unusual either. If she looks that uneasy that your worried drop a call to the vets and explain, I'm sure they will be happy to put your mind at rest or see her if they feel something isn't quiet right.

Thanks Ian , do you mean lethargy and feeling sorry for herself during her season or in general because she is normally a livewire ?

During her season. Once it's over she should be as normal.

yes all sounds very normal for being in season apart from the shaking, sasha will shake if she is in pain or is scared, just keep your eye on her and if it continues call your vet for a bit of advise .

My 8 month old just coming to end of first season and for the first 6-8 days she was subdued and much quieter than normal and she also was shaking for first couple of days but is returning back to normal now. I'm sure your little lady will be fine too good luck.
