Off work :(

Had food poisoning/a bug yesterday and so not allowed into work today due to it being a care setting. Hate calling in and feeling sorry for myself Especially in the first 6 months of being at a new job. Lost £110 wages also as we don't get sick pay. What a bummer.

Not sure don't get paid for the first 3 days off! Worst part is that I feel fine now, just tired, so could be in work xxx

Oh Rach hope you feel better soon, thats a lot of money to lose but you cant help being ill. Thats crap no sick pay xxx

statutory sick won't kick in til day 4 I also hate being off but learnt the hard way trying to come back too soon and just ended up going off again a week later

I once worked for a company that didn't pay sick pay (employers here in the UK pay into something like an insurance company to cover the pay of employers on sick leave, they can however opt not to pay into it).

Whilst in their employ I was involved in a car accident that left me with a back injury. After one week off I had to return to work as I couldn't afford to be off any longer.

I subsequently gained further permanent damage to my back having returned to work earlier than I should have.

Much better today thanks just finished a 12 hour shift! Back in tomorrow at 8am! Zzz! But got the weekend off nope not an agency, working as a support worker and the care companies aren't all that generous! Xx
