I hate, hate , hate these races!

It happens over here too don't worry. Makes my blood boil too!
I hate to see any animal exploited for $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
There was the most glorious coloured horse called Painted Rough that crashed at a hurdle and was put to sleep years and years ago at a steeple chase .. and I have never forgotten it!

OH I know what you mean but they are accidents that can happen anytime but you would think they would lower the fencing.
These horses really have the best life they are expertly fed and ridden and have therapy, massage water hydration they want for nothing and are physical atheletes. Going at that speed is dangerous but the grounds they run on are all maintained to a very high level.
They are long in the body but quite fine and when a horse damages its leg there is not much you can do to be fair to it than to put it down.
Im not saying I agree im just saying by no means are they treated cruely the hosrses going for meat now thats cruel

The cruelty is in the height of the fences & the fact that they are whipped on when it's obvious that they are not going to win. The two in scotland collapsed after the race.

Unfortunately wherever there is betting there will be an element of win at all costs.

yeah unfortunately alot of race horses here ( and greyhounds! ) are just disposed off when they no longer win their races....

I just feel that too much is asked of a lot of these horses - fences too high, disatnces too long, speeds too fast. They give and give until their hearts burst - literally!

yes and when there is $$$$$$$$$$$ to be made it will never stop! Grr!!!

I dont believe in any form of horse or dog racing.
