re call put to the test..... bragging

well as you all know i have been trying to get tykes re call down to a T and am glad we was put to the test on to nights walk.

So we were playing fetch and i spied a doberman 'teenager' all legs etc. he/she was of the lead and so tyke went on his lead when he/she bounced over. the owner called it back to which it just laid down then went back so they went out of view again so we carried on on with fetch BUT he/she came bouncing back over which this time tyke decided he was of to investigate so straight away i said 'stop' and he did mid run i then called him back and he came!! didnt have to shout or repeat myself, we both had a small party in the middle of the field, the other dogs owner must have thought i was potty but the hard work has paid off!!

Of course ill still do the responsible thing and pop him on his lead but it just shows in an emergency i can do it which i never thought i would be able to!!!

haha, i played little concentration games with him, just so he listened to me more as i had the problem that my OH had more 'authority over him. I just put the time in. all our walks were not just walks whether they were road walks or field it was all down to concentrating on me. its paid off, i know you can never say never BUT i feel miles more confidence with off lead walking now. and thank you

Haha, he listened from been a pup but more to my OH than me, so we been having lots of one on one and its paid off but that was tykes problem were other dogs, people or even once a quad he saw before me! he just wanted to share his love were now he will be Inquisit but he concentrates on me now

Recall is a very important tool to have with you at all times, you never know when it may have to be used in an emergency. Well done.
