Too skinny?

Guys, can you just have a quick look at Ralph in the short video and pic... I’ve had a couple of comments over the last few weeks that he’s too skinny.

I think he looks fine. He’s 11 months now and you can see the lovely definition of his muscles. When he turns in a certain way, you might catch a glimpse of his rib cage, but it’s not like it’s poking through or anything.

I’d be devastated if he was underweight or hungry, but I kind of wanted to keep him nice and lean and fit.
What are your thoughts?

I did take one of the comments with a pinch of salt, as it came from the OH's dad, who's Jack Russell looks like a barrel! And I told him as much too!

He's fine, Jo - a beautiful, fit & lean boy! Just as he should be.

Aslong as you think he's fine then other people's comments shouldn't matter! People are just too used to seeing overweight dogs they think that's the healthy norm.

As I said he looks in brilliant condition to me nice shiny coat in that video aswell

Personally i think people are too conditioned to think fat is good. He looks fine to me and is going to be much happier and healthier if he isnt lugging about fat!

He's fine, most staffys are overweight and most people don't actually know how a staffy should look because they're used to seeing ''fat'' staffys, your boy seems perfectly fine and in the right weight.

Yep agree, great shape! People used to tell me Moo was under weight when she was younger, 4 years later they certainly don't. As mentioned and it opened my eyes, you see far to many over weight dogs that people think thats normal Xx

He looks so good, very shiney . I think because of the way teenagers used to overfeed them to make them bigger, thats what people expect

He looks brilliant people are just used to seeing fat dogs. Myself included actually, took a bit of time for me to get used to the dogs on here that are in good shape.

He looks in lovely condition, I had the same concerns over Ledger, vet said he was fine they had 10 pics on the wall and Ledger was the minimum on the healthy range based on the descriptions but he said the problem is now that people just get used to seeing fat dogs as being normal.

He perfect. Its true theres too many over weight dogs including staffies. I love lean looking staffies.
