puppy sleeps in our bedroom...
so we only got the little cutie 2 days ago...on the first night i've tried to leave her in the kitchen, but the sounds she can make out were unbelievable...so we took her in our bedroom - (NOT IN A BED though) and she slept though the whole night without any accidents and eve ndespite the fact that our 3 months old son sleeps with us and wakes up during the night. dont know if we do a right thing though...we dont allow here to get in our bed, or sleep on the sofa - she has her bed to sleep in and she's happy to do that

Re: puppy sleeps in our bedroom...
Yep, it really is a personal choice.
My girl has slept in her bed in the laundry since day One....but others have theirs in a crate/cage.....or on the lounge......or in the bedroom......or in their bed.
Whatever works for you.
Just as long as it is what you are happy with "long term" as it will be harder to change the longer time goes on

Re: puppy sleeps in our bedroom...
wherever everyone is happy with in your home We have a playpen for Vlad with a big bed in it in the lounge room. He now sleeps for 10+ hours (believe me, this energetic little bugger needs that much sleep!) His first few nights we had very little sleep... he made awful noises, but we persisted. He has never had an accident in his bed. We will remove the playpen when he knows that his bed and the area around it are his to play in and he is toilet trained. When he is inside, he pretty much now walks into his playpen and either plays or sleeps... unless he has his naughty head on, then he runs around the house like a total idiot! I have found lots of useful information and tried lots, but ultimately it comes down to what is comfortable for your dog, you and your family and what makes you all happy (and get a good night's sleep LOL

It's a personal choice. Suki sleeps in the bed with us but we left her in her crate the first 7-10 days so she would know that was her spot.

Moo sleeps in my bed, in her bed, on the sofa, where ever she likes really, but she does understand now if I say off the bed she will sleep in her own. She was nestling into my back at night so I couldn't really move, and after a couple of sleepless nights and a bad back she had to go for a few nights lol Xx

Re: puppy sleeps in our bedroom...
Dempsey isn't allowed in my bedroom simply because he causes too much havoc! He used to sleep in his crate (still does sometimes) but now pleases himself - he'll sleep on the sofa, the armchair, the passageway & even the small landing half way down the stairs!

Re: puppy sleeps in our bedroom...
I've always had them sleep in my bed after a week or so. Personal choice I know but I feel it helps with bonding and normally they aren't a big bother.

Re: puppy sleeps in our bedroom...
I was okay with Frank being in my bed room with me but I didnt want him in my bed, he doesnt sleep well in his bed on the floor, however after a mix up he ended up in my bed and he sleeps all night now.
Ive also noticed that I must get on his nerves during the night, he starts off at my feet but I move to much for him and he will strop off to the other side of the big bed away from me lol
Cant wait till he is big enough to get on the bed him self, as he will jump off in the middle of the night to do his "rounds" where he checks on everyone, gets a drink, then comes back and sits at the side of my bed crying to be lifted up lol (yes i followed him one night to see what he was doing) haha
xx

Re: puppy sleeps in our bedroom...
Summer sleeps downstairs at the moment with the stairgate closed and thats only because she can get up but not down, when she can navigate down the stairs she will have the run of the house at night and 4 bedrooms to choose from lucky girl. I just couldnt let her up at the moment as we have 4 flights of stairs (3 story town house) and I just cant see myself running up and down umpteen flights of stairs when she is whinging because she is stuck on a flight of stairs at 3am!
Really looking forward to when she gets the freedom of the house.
Good luck with the little one, sounds so sweet xxx
