Indestructable Toys??
Now I know there probably is no such thing as an indestructable toy in the dog world but are there any damn near?
Since he's got his adult teeth Cody has become a bit of a bugger with his toys, even when he was teething he never chewed this much! He loves stuffed toys but he kills them...literally. I have watched him pin down his honking pheasant (his favourite toy since he was tiny) and rip a hole in its back and pull the stuffing out bit by bit, throw the stuffing round the room then sit very proudly with the flat pheasant at his feet
I knew stuffed toys wouldn't last long so that's ok. We've tried him with everything, plastic squeeky toys, heads off in seconds...normal rubber toys...they break just as easily. We then tried those new-ish toys from P@H those black and yellow ruber toys meant to be really tough....he's now ripped them to shreds to!
So does anyone know of a brand of toy that might last longer than 5 minutes? I don't mind buying him new toys every week cause he's a bit spoilt anyway but I worried that one day he'll swallow something he's bitten off :O

We've had good success with Kongs. They aren't a permanent solution but do last awhile. Plus you can put treats in them so they area great distratcion if you are going to be away.

Thoses ones from P@H don't seen to be as good as a Kong. I found an Oracle ball ( i think) at a market that seems to be lasting ok and an amaze-a-ball which Buddy loves, especially when its got pnut butter in it!!!
A big bit of rugger rope can last quite a while too im finding, he just sits and knaws at it and rips bits off, leaves strands everywhere, but they easy enough to pick up!

Nothing as of yet her toy box (yes she has one) looks like it should be thrown in the bin, but she just enjoys shredding things, thankfully only her things, tennis balls are defluffed and in half, and then there are just bits of toys here and there. The only thing she hasn't destroyed is her boomer ball, she doesn't like it cause she can't destroy it

Re: Indestructable Toys??
Ah! Kong! Do you know what, I bought one when we first got Cody and he wouldn't play with it and its been in the cupboard ever since, i'll dig it out later!
Tug of war ropes...how did I ever forget them? He likes the string on the mop (found bit of it everywhere one morning!) so i'm sure he'd love some of them.
I shall keep an eye out for the others to, there is a market near my work which has quite a bit pet section that i've never actually looked in so I might find something amazing in there

The markets are also really good for doggy biscuits and rawhides and stuff. I can get big rings for a quid that would be over 3 in P@H.

Re: Indestructable Toys??
When you find one let me know
Izzy is nearly two and the only thing left is this really strong mint rubber type ball that she just stands there and chews & chews & chews while slobbering all over it. I gave her a bone shaped teeth cleaner in the same material and that was in half within a day. Our last lot of Kongs just disintegrated in the hot sun last summer.
Like Janey's Moo she wont play with the large basketball we've got as she can't fit it in her mouth, so I wont bother with the staffie or boomer ball.
As for ropes they were great for a while until she ended up eating the bits of string and made herself sick.
As for tennis balls - 10 seconds tops. Usually one crunch later and it's in half.

Nothing is indestructable for a Staffie
Oh how I laughed at this topic as we have gone through the same things. Tennis balls lasting 10 seconds, stuffed toys being murdered and disembowled with the resultant fluff all over the place and very dead feather dusters. The local pet supply shops have provided me with endless toys that they were convinced were Ty proof none of which have kept hem occupied for longer than 10 minutes.
Ropes seem to last a bit longer provided I join him in tug-o-war from time to time but whatever playthings he does have and enjoy, I am reigned to having some sort of mess to clean up after.
