Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
My boss is retiring and the next in line applied and got her job ><
So of course her job comes up and dopey who knows she has all the necessary qualifications and experience, but is hesitant about applying listens to darling supportive hubby and puts it all on line.
Now the interview is tomorrow at 10.00am Oz time and I've got cold feet. Not even sure I want to do it anymore, but I committed myself so I have to go ahead with it.
Need some positives
1) Committed
2) Flexible
3) Adapts quickly
4) Adept in crisis management
5) HELP ??????

Re: Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
I had a friend call me with this same question. I realized that I have never had an interview but have screened alot of applicants.
The economy is on a downturn so emphasis being able to do more with less and highlight teambuilding prowess.
Eye contact is essential.
Don't be hesitant to talk about areas that need improvement. It will surely come up but have an answer of how you are working to overcome it.
Make sure to ask what is expected of the new position and how the company wants to move forward. Ask what will be expected of you and what the company's goals are. You should have an answer of how to get there. You can generalize but be prepared for the question.
Hope this helps a little and good luck.

Re: Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
No problems. Just be confident and your employers will pick up on it. If you can train Staffys to act right you can certainly get people to do their jobs
Good luck

Yeah right!!!!
Do we train them or do they pretend so we feel we are in control.......?
I'm going to make a banner that says
"IM SERIOUSLY NOT OWNED BY A STAFFY"
Wonder who'll believe me......?????

Re: Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
I've got a T-Shirt that says I whisper but my Staffy doesn't listen. Not to bring up Ceasar Millan but I do like the shirt and very appropriate

Re: Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
I had to google Ceasar Millan/Cesar Millan - same same
I'm a bit ignorant, all I saw on a quick glance was 'dog whisperer", oh I seriously wish I had the ability to communicate with dogs, sure would beat trying to with humans some days

Re: Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
Massive good luck for tomorrow, you'll be fine, be confident and relaxed and even if your not sure you want it, make that your choice!
I am a friendly, upfront person with an open style of management and considerable experience in the Customer Service sector, both in the Retail and Licensed trade. A reliable, well presented, organised and knowledgeable person, with the capacity to work as part of a team or individually. Highly adaptable, hard working and a quick learner.
Not sure if any of that is relevant but thats on the top of my cv and I got the job I went for

Re: Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
I'd hire you Janey,
Great starting point.
I did both of ours last year as Trevor's company in Adelaide closed after 50 years and he'd been there for 27. Funny thing was his company had employment agencies working with all 600 employees to help them land new jobs and we had to rewrite the CV the silly woman from one did for him.
Once he got the job in Perth I was able to apply for a transfer with my company but I still had to update my 8 yr old Cv into a more presentable looking one as well as it was a bit dated.

Re: Interview tomorrow 12 hours from now,
My mum was a cv writer, not qualified but she was paid for it.
It was really tough for me as I had run pubs for 10 years (I got sacked from my last job after 6 years, long story) and I needed a job asap to pay the bills. In the pub trade I would have never found a job that paid me the money I was on so looked for something else. With great interpersonal skills and a good cv I found a job in a month.
Good luck chick, I always think its yours if you want it, and if not turn them down
