where did you get your staffie?
We got ours at separate times.. First zion.. and then bunny (zion needed his own dog)
zion was just a few weeks old.. left on a 100 degree summer day.. no food or water..abandoned in a garage with his siblings...
the people were said to have been raising fighting dogs.. and abandoned them when they were to be arrested.. (two of his siblings didnt survive)
the area he was from normally put staffies to sleep.. but since they were puppies they were taken in by a foster home/rescue..
i saw a pic of him on the internet and drove 120 miles to adopt him..
bunny came from a local rescue.. they didnt have any story to tell of him that i am aware of but we had decided zion needed a buddy.. and since he gets along with all things (except squirrels, bunnies and other "prey" animals) .. they met and have become inseparable..
at the rescues .. zions name was augustus originally.. and bunny's was ronan..

Buster's a rescue too. He was only 9 months old when we got him and he'd already had two homes. Home for life now, needless to say. I have to say, the rescue centre were visibly over the moon when we came to get him, as they are overun with staffies, and Buster is a cross.

We got our Buster (he's a cross Staffy with American Bulldog) from a local seller , his parents were both in the family home and we saw them when we went to see Buster. He was one of a litter of 13!

Re: where did you get your staffie?
Both my late boy Nitro and Harley came from reputable breeders, Nitro was 4 months old and not wanted as his tail was bent as the owners had loads of kids and 1 stood on Nitro's tail and broke it so he had a big kink in it so he couldn't be used as a show dog and Harley i got when he was 8 weeks old from a breeder, someone wanted to buy him but when they found out there was no breeding agreement with the breeders they didn't want him so i got him.

Re: where did you get your staffie?
I did a lot of homework before I got Bandit. I read the dog papers, including the Annuals, I contacted several breed clubs & read, read, read! Eventually I saw details of the Yankeestaff kennel in East Anglia and although it was a long way to go I loved the look of their dogs - they were terrier types, agile, strong & good temperament. I phoned & was lucky - the lady had a 5 week old litter. We went to see the litter 2 weeks later & came away with Bandit! The breeder, Nancy Malec, was an absolute godsend - I'd had pastoral dogs before & although I knew a fair bit about staffs, there were gaps, and BIG ones. She patiently answered all my silly questions & helped me fall in love with the bully breeds in general.
Dempsey was the result of pestering several big Bull Terrier breeders to the point where one of them put me in touch with a friend of their's whose bitch had just had her first litter. We went all the way to Essex for him (a 7 hour round trip) & never regretted it.

we got roo from a family ,they were moving house and could not take her with them, which was sad, she was a rescue too they rescued her off some people who had abused her ,so it was hard for them to part with her. she is about 20 month old now and is brindle and white, she is the long legged type but we are also not sure if shes full or cross staffy but love her to bits

Re: where did you get your staffie?
We got Tess from a breeder a few miles away, Joe was from a local litter of 13 pups, there was also the mum and dad of the pups and 3 young kids in the house (AND the dogs owner was 6 months pregnant!), and Finn we got from Manchester, were we also met her mum and dad. I'd love another one but hubs has put his foot down this time!!!

Re: where did you get your staffie?
My dad has a friend who has a beautiful show winner staffy bitch who had a litter 3 weeks ago. I'm getting the biggest one from that litter. He looked brindle at first but when I saw him on monday he's got red feet and head and his torso looks blue. Very odd colouring but gorgeous. I can't wait to get him home

Re: where did you get your staffie?
I wanted a jackrussell so when i seen jackrussell free to good in shop window i rushed up there to find Taz, i knew the family and their not the best Taz was his brother was in a bath littered with feaces and urine, i took him home first time i seen his true color was when i bathed him,
few months past this guy always walked his dog (cassie) around the same time as i did and he gave her to along with her sister who was all jack russell but the color of a staff she went to a new home and now i got my babies. but as soon as i get myself a bigger place with a garden im heading down the pound i always wanted to pick the oldest dog there or one that was there the longest and give it a good life.
