Hurricane Irene
Everyone here in New England is freaking out about Hurricane Irene, a Category 1 (may already have been downgraded to a Tropical Storm) that will hit us Northies tomorrow. Everyone has battened down the hatches, pulled their boats out of the water and loaded up on Hurricane Supplies. As a former Floridian, I have seen my share of real hurricanes and am not at all concerned over this puny Category 1 storm! Peeshaw!! Plus, I've got all the Hurricane Supplies I need, right here:

Neato! Nice to know a Fellow Former Floridian! I'm throwing a two person Hurricane Party! Just the boyfriend and I. Well, the pets are here, too, but none of them are old enough to drink....

Re: Hurricane Irene
My area didn't get hit very hard at all. No flooding and barely any wind. Some areas got hit harder than us. There was some property damage and were a few deaths, but that was mostly due to (improperly cared for) trees falling or people touching downed electric wires (really, people?). All in all the storm was nothing compared to the hurricanes we used to get in South Florida.

Re: Hurricane Irene
Glad to hear it wasn't all that bad Well....that's silly to go near downed electric wires!
I read about it (very short) here

Looks like it's moving along and I heard it's going into Canada

Re: Hurricane Irene
It is, but it's been downgraded to a Tropical Storm (it may even be a tropical depression by now). So they shouldn't have too much trouble with it.
