obedience classes?
me and my partner were talking about taking rocko for some obedience classes after his jags.
never been to anything like this and not sure how to choose a good one and unsure about how to find a good teacher.
could anyone tell me if they have ever gone to these classes and how to know if you have a good teacher.

Re: obedience classes?
Ive been looking in to classes for my boy too, want him to listen to me and to be okay around other dogs, even if it means just passing them!
i think there are classes all over the place, ive got one just around the corner from my house in a church and ive heard its great and the reviews on google from people who use it are all glowing reports so i think once Franks had his Jabs he will be going to school

Try and see If you have friends and family, Which have been to any local good obdience training classes themselves they could recommend to you, We have a 16 week old staffy , And we been going to obdience training classes once a week , But so far Im not very Impressed everyone there covering I know already, I think best bit were getting from the classes Is socialisation thats about It , But Im sure theres probably better classes In your area, With glasgow been such a big place , We live In a small town , And dont drive so these classes are our only choice.

Violet goes there too
We've only been twice, but the trainers seem nice&they'll give you tips on how to do something correctly if you're doing it wrong. They also don't push you too far -for example, some puppies trot along off lead nicely, whilst Violet and I do a kind of polka-walk-limbo-lunge, but the trainer just advised us on how to walk better on lead rather than progressing her to offlead too quickly.
The vet that we use (Taylors) and Pets at Home also run puppy classes in Glasgow, but I've not been to those.

Re: obedience classes?
Hi,
thanks, it was nice, just such an introduction really but it was great to meet all the puppies and introduce Stella to a completely new environment and the noise there and stuff. The guy who talked to us was nice and their approach seems to be exactly as I like it - friendly. So I really enjoyed it a lot.
Stella was quite tired after whole day so she actually even behaved herself
And Violet is a wee cracker by the way, lovely, beautiful, bunch of joy, oh, so lovely Stella will have grow really quickly to catch up with her if she is really just 3 weeks younger So I think Violet and Stella were simply the best there, no doubt <:-P

Stella is so cute and dinky! I can't even remember Violet being so tiny, especially now that she is a big 9.5kilo lump! Was nice to see another staffie there though, for me and Violet - she loves to meet more of her own breed
