Grunting, Puppy not me?
Hi
When I take Bella our 13 week old pup out, she does a lot of grunting, not barking or straining at the lead but actual grunting, even if she is stood next to me off the lead.
Does anyone know what this is or means?

They make all sorts of noises so it may not mean anything. Could be that she is just happy to be outside?

When Henry is Rolling he sounds like a dinosaur!
Missy is like a pig, snuffing and grunting and snorting!!
This is all indoors or in the garden though, I've not experienced this on lead. x

Most staffords snort when they are smelling, playing or sleeping. I think it is due to the large head and prominant muscles which constrict the trachea (windpipe) making it more difficult for air to travel down effectively.

Re: Grunting, Puppy not me?
LOl thanks for the replies. And snoring OMG I have never heard anything like it in my life!
Re: Grunting, Puppy not me?
Suki doesn't really snore all that much. She is an active dreamer and will growl in her sleep. So on occassion I wake up to a growling AmStaff a few inches from my face. Really freaked me out the first few times but now no issues. I do still move away a bit though She also makes a few other weird noises that we are trying to catch on video tape to share.

We are also trying to get the yawning noise on tape. Don't know how to describe it really but it is very cute.
