The pup (10weeks 2moz) has just been stung on the bottom of her paw by a bee, it's all swollen.

Re: Puppy stung by a bee help
Its never happened to me. Badly swollen? If so I'd think the vets. Mines been stung (I guess) but her paws are so brittle she doesn't notice. Don't panic though, for an adult dog I would suggest a anti hystemine (sp) have you got a cream, even sudocrem might sooth it Xx

Re: Puppy stung by a bee help
You don't really have to do anything, it should calm down in a day or two. You can give the over the counter allergy meds for people, but they're not overly effective (antihistamines). You should be able to get prednisolone from your vet either for this or to have in your medicine cupboard for another time. I don't think meds are required for a stung paw unless it's causing a lot of pain and trouble, but if they are stung in the face/nose/neck area swelling can be more dangerous so it's good to have on hand.

Ok thanks, just panicked!
She's licking it lots which I suppose is a good thing to keep it clean?
I'll see how she is to tomorrow and if its swollen more Ill get something sorted.

the main time you would need to worry is if the dog swollowed a bee or was bitten on the face, paw should be fine, although if it does get very swollen I would take it to the vet
