a good day out
Me and Foxie had a good day out at the Dog Vegas agility show at Grantham today,
we both got 1st places and brought home some nice prizes and rossettes
but it was hard work and i got chased by a collie and got my leg bit
anyway im home now, and doing what i do best
but we have got to do it all again on Saturday and Sunday at the delinquent dogz agility comp in the finals for the summer 2011 season
still, its more points for me in the staffy bull terrier agility league
Ratty, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

ratty is a star
thank you,
thats a first for me, being called a star although i often get called some not so nice names at times
it was lucky that foxie missed the contact pont on the A frame and got faults for it, or he would have got two 1st places and i would only have got 2nd place and clear round rossettes
Ratty,

Hi Ella, yes it is at the same place, but with Harvey being such a big strong boy i'd forgotten he was only 6 months old, which is too young to start full training with him,
still, 6 months will go by all to soon, so Harvey will soon be up to doing it then

Re: a good day out
although me and Foxie did not win any classes on the saturday we got clear rounds in both the agility and jumping classes, and little Sammy (our cavipoo pal) also got all clear rounds
we did better on the Sundaythough,
when i got 10th in the agility normal & 2nd in the jumping normal,
while in the finals i did much better
with 1st place in the agility final
& 4th place in the jumping final
Foxie got 5th/4th/8th/5th in the same classes, so i whupped him good & proper
and our staffie pal Gizmo won the veterans class agility final comp too, well done Gizzy
i'm having a day off today cos i'm a bit tired after the weekend, so no Galloping around Clumber park today

Re: a good day out
Well done! Love the brag pix! I can't wait for Gummi to get old enough to start agility, he's wonderful to work with and I'm sure he'll love it.

i'm sure he will love it too, and all the dogs at agility seem to love it more than the owners do
and as staffys are quick learners anyhow he will soon pick it up, so im sure he will do well when he starts doing agility
most owners of other breeds of dogs seem suprised how well staffys do at agility, i think maybe its because of the build of staffys they assume we cant go fast and jump too, wrong !!

Re: a good day out
I already have an AgilityPug so I know that "unlikely" builds are not as unlikely as they might seem. I have to admit I'm expecting a lot fewer rude comments about a staffy than a pug, but time will show.. (It was just fun when people were rude, though, because they always did it BEFORE we beat their dog. > )

its always much nicer when that happens

you could start now by teaching him some of the easier bits, like the tunnel (lots of dogs find this hard at first, they dont seem to like going into the unknown )and getting him used to various commands ( left/right etc) which will all help to get Harvey off to a flying start at agility
Ratty.

you could vote for one of the others, but i'm the best looking one
