Now we've just moved out of the city, but this used to be on my way from home to work..

Re: Yikes!
If what they say as the location of the explosion is correct there's just no way there are no fatalities.. the damage is so severe quite a bit away that there's no way people that was nearby made it..janey wrote:Oh my, at least there are no fatalitys reported Xx

7 confirmed dead and 10 dead after a guy disguised as a policeman started shooting kids at a political summer camp..

Re: Yikes!
85 confirmed dead at the camp, 4 still missing.. it's just crazy. A friend from school was there, but is alright. I might still find out that people I know were hurt/survived either attack..
The only "good" thing in all of this is that it was a Norwegian whack job that did this and not a foreigner. I'd have hated for this to result in increased fear of Muslims on top of all the sadness. It might be a strange thing to see, but it scares me how narrow minded we have become - how almost everyone initially assumed it must be Muslim terrorists.. I kept hoping it wouldn't be, and was glad to hear he was a Christian. At least it shows how religion doesn't make people crazy - it's an excuse at best.

Re: Yikes!
It's a terrible, terrible thing. How can somebody's mind get so screwed up that they do things like this?
Everytime I hear of this sort of thing happening I feel numb. It's hard to understand.

On our news channel here it said that the Norwegian who did it may have been anti-muslim. They found a manifesto or something saying that he may have done it to protest Muslims or something? The also said that he called his actions "gruesome, but necessary" and that his lawyer said "he will give the reasonings behind his actions tomorrow."
