Re: marty
There all top fish The 58cm Kaneko (black & white) will be a costly fish, the Showa's are always a decent price and popular and the Kaneko tancho Kujaku will be expensive
None of those will be less than £300 raising to around £1200 i would expect if not more

my mum said the pound or whatever they keep the fish in was the size of a swimming pool & they goto japan once or twice a year to bring back fish.
if you can sell fish for that amount
Re: marty
The 2 Ochiba's are nice and grow quickly and big, not keen on the Orange one but the black & white Beko's are quite sought after

Re: marty
All those fish are top top fish hand picked in Japan you can set up and buy cheaper one's that to the not so fanatical look just as good. they are Beautiful fish to look at in a pond

Re: marty
No papers or register for them you can buy a nice looking koi for £10 but put it next to a Japanese one and it would look faded with lesser markings but look at it on its own or other similar ones and it would look ok
I get mine from here http://www.teessidekoi.co.uk/store.aspx
they do smaller koi from £15 but there tiddlers

Re: marty
Its the country there bred in that classes it's origins so 2 Japanese fish breed in England there off spring are English Koi

Re: marty
Good English but the very best are Japanese because the conditions and heat there reared in will always be superior and more costly, but English Koi are hardier to our climate so have that advantage but the Japanese colours are always better
