ANGRY,ANGRY BLOODY ANGRY

Mine and Maddies morning walk spoilt by a stupid woman. we went out at 7am this morning on our usual walk, Maddie has been exceptional off her lead this week coming back when called,if she goes too far ahead i say " wait" she has been waiting till i get to her. Anyway we was walking Maddie playing in the long grass i see a womaen and dog coming the other way so recalled Maddie and made her sit and wait which she did paid no attension to the dog approaching her . when the women got level with me her dog was snarling , showing it's teeth so i slipped Maddies lead on. Then the cheecky woman( called something else at the time ) said oh it's one of those dogs, i asked her what she meant by the comment and she said one of the banned types that should be muzzled i did inform her politly that she wasn't a banned breed at all and she didn't know what she was talking about (her dog at this time still snarling) she then said to which i laughed they shouldn't be allowed out in public, before i carried on with our walk i reminded her it was her dog showing it's teeth and snarling pulling her off her feet , i advised before she commented on other peoples dogs she should get hers trained and socialised. Poor old Maddie hadn't even looked at the dog to be honest think she was scared after this Maddie was let off the lead again but didn't leave my side for the rest of the walk ohhhh some people

Some people have no idea about dogs. That a classic example of the owner fault not the dog. I experienced this a couple of times. One time i was painting the garden fence. And a neighbour walked by with her dog and the dog started growling spolit and not socialised.

I would have understood if Maddie hadn't listened to me and ran off towards them but she did as she was told and waited ( very impressed i must say lol) it annoys me that i have worked hard to train Maddie and people still wont give the benefit of the dout. She didn't even try correcting her dog why didn't she just keep walking and feel the need to make comments about a well behaved dog grrrrrr

I totally understand how you feel! I guess "those people" are everywhere in the world. Every once in a while, I meet a dog owner who is taking a small yappie dog that is barking and growling at Suki whereas Suki is just standing there looking at the yappie dog. The dog owner says "oh, that's is such a big scary dog! (telling to his/her dog) you are going to be eaten or bitten by this dog so be careful!. I always think how they can be so rude and say things like that. I try not to get close to those people everytime I see them and walk Suki to the other way. (Mrs. Jstaff )

i say ban toy dogs and white fur balls
may be we should ask for them to be banned and see what there owners fill like

I would have been so mad, I don't think I could've kept my cool with her! I was out walking my two a couple of weeks ago, they were off the lead and ran up to a spaniel. I heard the women scream "Oh My God!!" then as I got up to her she started shouting "Get them off my dog, get them off my dog" my two are 4 months old now, they are so happy to see other dogs, children, people pretty much anyone. They only went up to say hello. The spaniel was wagging its tail as were my two. Made me so mad. My OH just "they are only bloody pups for gods sake". Now whenever I see her I call my two back and make them walk behind me, just to show off how well trained they are in comparison to her spaniel. Some people are so uneducated when it comes to dogs. Nasty people have nasty dogs!

does anyone know if i can give cod liver oil to Maddie, her exercise has been very minimal for a few months now due to my ill health, now im back up to walking just wondered if a supplement would help her muscles until shes back to the amount of exercise she used to get

I had virtually the same experience myself this morning when walking Bella. A woman with a muzzled mongral actually walked into the long grass to avoid us.

I gave her a confused look as we walked pass to which she said to her snarling dog...We dont like them do we!

So I turned around and said .. Excuse me what did you say? in a polite manner. (I'm a normal middle aged man in a suit walking my dog at 7.30am by the way). To which she decided to ignore me and continued walking in the wet long grass like a poor version of Gladiator!

Why is it the people with small yappy and snarling dogs act this way? Is it like small man syndrome or something?

I agree they do make us VERY VERY ANGRY!

well i have a staffy and a toy dog and both are good with all dogs its not the dogs its the way they a brought up no matter what the breed

....and don't worry we do get the odd moron over here like that too!

yea you can its very good for them

I took harvey for his normal walk earlier round the park, and i'm not joking but 4 yes 4! couples walking their dogs either crossed the road or avoided us completely and one even picked up their little yapping rat because there wasn't anyway to avoid us and very quickly walked round us, it's quite comical really.

Oh and to top it off one off the couples who avoided us then tried to copy us and get their dog to wait at the curb like harvey had just done, but he was having none of it and it ran into the middle of the road

well done both of you for showing how a well behaved dog acts. i think some people are just morons and im now concluding its a waste of breathe saying anything as their tiny minds cant actually process what we are saying - i just have a chuckle to myself as i walk past with my and that actually we are probably far happier than they are

Someday, somehow, we WILL change people's perceptions of our beautiful breed!

What else can we expect, when we have a hysterical media, spewing half truths and lies, to a dumbed down mass?

To an extent, we get the media and televison we deserve, because the high sales figures of trashy tabloids show they are popular.

Which is a reflection on British society, imo.

I am only surprised that a paper like the STAR or SUN haven't yet made a link between a Staffie and terrorism.

I know how you feel, but I would not let it get to you.

To people like that i always tell them spaniels bite more people every year then any other breed.
I had some man infront of me pick up his toddler when he saw Romeo coming towards him. I gave him such a glare i think his balls dropped off.
Today at 5.30am i was walking Romeo and a load of random people came out a house, Romeo's never onlead and loves everyone so he ran up to say hi to them. Oh jeeze i thought. However all the people thought he was really cute and said hello to him. They must have thought i was crazy however, cause i looked at the floor when i said hello and pulled my hood up. 5.30am =no make up.
