Dog related injuries? Empty Dog related injuries?

Post by Guest Tue Jul 19 2011, 21:20

This past weekend I got clotheslined by Saxon's tie out. It wasn't so bad at first, but today the bruise looks nasty! Of course it's on my leg during shorts season!

I've never been injured too badly by a dog. My "worst" injury was from a friend's Australian Cattle Dog. He trained her to bite people on command and asked the dog to bite me resulting in three huge painful bruises on my leg that lasted over a month, of course during shorts weather again! If that's y worst, though, I really can't complain!

How often do you get injuries from your dogs (or other people's dogs)? What's the worst canine related injury you've ever had?

Mine was like yours. The worst I had was from Olivers tie out before I put up a fence. He was standing near me and took off running and the tie out rubbed my leg pretty good resulting in a pretty bad burn on my leg.

I bet it's an American term. A tie out is a long lead that you attach your dog to in the yard, an other name of it is a "tether." We had Saxon on this one: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2755023 this weekend at a barbecue.

Oh dear. Injuries.

I've had several black eyes, split lips & bruised jaws/heads from head buts. My oh put his back out when Bandit barrelled into the back of his legs in a very icy Richmond Park. I've been bitten twice (both my fault) but luckily no stitches needed. I've been tripped, barged & muscle-pulled. And I got a very nasty nylon burn on my left hand when Dempsey decided he'd had enough of a particularly irritating dalmatian.

All for the love of the bullies......................

I'm hoping my injuries lessen as Suki begins to calm down Laughing It seems like I always have a cut or briuse usually either from a headbutt or a misplaced bite during tug. Never so serious that I need stitches but still painfull.

Yesterday I bent down to move my bag so that Violet could hop up onto the couch. At the very same time, Violet decided she could just jump over the bag. Ended up with a full force headbutt right in my face Sad

My nose is split open at the side, my teeth went through both the inside of my mouth and my lip and my nose now looks like it's trying to migrate off of my face, or at least get away from the mountain that sprouted up on my chin. Violet is okay, but she was upset at the time!

Matt that sounds painful, it's bad enough having one sore ankle but trying to get around on 2? ouch!
Linzy that made my eyes water. My daughter got me on the nose when she was about a year old but I don't even want to imagine a staffy headbutt, their heads are like bricks!

So far apart from a few friction burns and bruises the worst was pulled neck and shoulder muscles when Millie took off running on her extending lead. When the lead stopped her she done a somersault and I went flying. The embarrassment was a bit worse than the injury though Blushing

Ow Linzy, that hurts!! I was head-butted a couple weeks ago by the monkey, but all I got was a fat lip.

Matt, that is no fun! It always seems that when you're hurt, you are a magnet for more injuries.

My rottweiler bit open my hand but it didn't scar. I'm always covered in bruises from Romeos brick head and once I twisted my ankle tripping in a rabbit hole, technically it's his fault as I was watching him and not the ground. Tongues Nothing serious though-touch wood!
