Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
I'm just wondering what people think about moving to another country!
Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
I do it every couple of years. It's always nice to be exposed to a new culture.

Asolutley would move to new zeland or second choice OZ. We have seriously discussed it so many times but just dont have the funds at present. We would go in a heart beat if we did though......Hubbys a bricky (builder) so shouldnt have a problem with work x

I've never really thought about moving to another country, just to more northan parts of Australia where its warmer.
I find it funny that you all want to come here when my friend up and left to live with her hubby in Luton the other year, she loves it! the day they got married here in Aus was like 40 degree day, I bet her husband was happy to get back to nice cool England!
Thats a really great way to live!! I'd be too scared i think. where are you from originally?

I grew up in the US but my job "lets" me move around and travel alot. I was a bit nervous about leaving the country the first time but now I take every chance I can get to experience someplace new. With Skype I keep in touch witht he homefront pretty easy.

me and my OH have no family left, it would just mean leaving the kids, cause billy would come with us.
ideally i would like to keep a base in the UK and one somewhere else then travel between the two, that is what we are working towards but we cant decide where.

Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
wont you miss your kids lynne... Maybe i'm one of these people who like family around and close..
Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
We really couldnt care less about leaving our wider family (alot of water under the brige on both sides) 2 us the only people that really matter our the kids, eachother, the cat and the dogs lol and they would all be coming with us. I would miss my friends alot but when you have young kids its sooooo easy 2 make new ones x

Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
yeah i will miss them, but they have their own lives to lead, and we aim to come back 2 -3 times a year for a month or so each time

Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE living where I live although I would also LOVE to travel more and see more of this great land of ours.............
Yep, I live in Sunny Australia and have no desire to live elsewhere, just a desire to explore all it has to offer. There are sooooo many beautiful places to visit......just a lack of spare time and $$$$$$

Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
If i move out of the uk it would have to be somewhere that is similar to the uk so they have to speak english(i dont think i could learn another language now) no huge snakes, no poisonous snakes, no killer bees, no killer spiders, no killer snarks so that rules out most places...

i wouldn't mind living in the usa pennsylvania they are similar to the uk but they get alot more snow i think plus know a few people over also.
Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
that sounds nice,
I would like something hot in summer and cold in winter, near a beach/lake not too many people, no tourists (they get on my nerves in London) not a lot of crime and dog friendly
any ideas

The grass is always greener on the other side isn't it. I'd be gone in a flash to Europe yesterday if everything was in order.

i dont want to move the country may be going down the pan but i'm quite happy here with my family
Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
I clicked maybe, but me and my hubby REALLY want to move to New Zealand. The only reason I clicked Maybe is because we'd have a serious fight on our hands with our families. My parents in particular would never forgive is for taking the children so far away from them.
Dan (hubby) has friends over here and they said if we were serious, they'd help us. I want to finish my degree and teacher training first, then we'll look into it more seriously.

Re: Would you emigrate to another country if you hava a chance?
I love it here, but I also love Canada. If I won lots of money I'd go there for a year or two for sure, but perhaps not forever. I could probably live happily in the UK, too - lots of beautiful places there. I'd stay somewhere they speak English, though. It's not my first language, but I use it enough to feel pretty comfortable with it.

I'm actually a Finnish citizen and have been studying Finnish the last couple of years. I spent two months in Finland this summer taking Finnish courses and living with family members. My Finnish has certainly improved, but probably not enough to join a Finnish Forum!

Not ever leaving sunny s. Florida. Seems that we are getting a lot of Brits and Canadians moving here as well. Not sure why all you want to move but it sounds like your country is going downhill. Maybe you should throw out your politicians. There's a bunch here i would like to get rid of.
One of these days i have to get across the pond.

I don't think there are many politicians in this world that deserve positions in power. I also don't think us Americans can really talk about bad politics in other countries when we have plenty of bad politics ourselves!!

I'll go see Australia one day for certain, and New Zealand, too.. I couldn't handle living in Australia, though, too many poisonous creatures. I love visiting the US, too, I just wouldn't want to live there.emily wrote:But of course,I love Australia and living here also

Don't come here. Pretty soon there won't be anyone like me around here. I live in a rural area and it is turning into this. Everywhere is starting to look like this. It won't be long until it all loks like this.
