A big hello from myself and puppy 'Ellie'

Hi everyone, a big grin as we have finally got our puppy which we chose just after she was born. Today we have her home, she is such a cutie.

I'm going to stop waffling and let the pictures talk, her name is Ellie.

Cheers guys, she is so lovable with little sad eyes. She's beginning to use a toilet 'area' by the back door and is getting better every day. Lots of praise and a treat when she uses the puppy trainer pad. I've been carrying her outside just to introduce her to the outside world but does get a bit scared. She likes to bite everything, so much so that she thinks her name is Ellie no!

Encourage her to go outside if she is making the door 'area'. No point in having to re-train twice so the sooner she goes outside the better. You have an 'Ellie No', I have a 'Moo be carefull'

Ellie hasn't had her jabs yet so don't really want to let her out, this weekend we are taking her (carrying) to a newly opening Vet/ clinic / surgery to see if they have any nice deals for new members. Luckily for us this vet is almost a stones throw from us so it'll be really handy for us and Ellie. She will be 8 weeks this Friday (tomorrow) and the open day for the new vets is this Sunday. Do you guys/ girls on the forum think it's wise to let her creep out onto the patio?

I would think it would be safe to let her onto the patio. The main thing is not to let her mix with any strange dogs that you don't know, that may not be vaccinated. Carrying your pup is an ideal way to get her used to different sights and sounds until she is safely fully vaccinated ..... my vet told me that.

wow! ellie is sooo cute!!!! sounds like she is doing just great!! i have to agree with janey, i dont think there is much point in training twice when it comes to her going toillet, may as well just get her used to going outside in your garden, i think she will be fine as long as there isnt any strange dogs outside... its best to keep and eye on her untill she has had her jabs tho and make sure she stays away from the slugs an snails, some of those little critters carry LUNG WORM
