New member...advice
Hi
Im new here but wanted some advice. We have had our male staffy for 3 year.. we inherited him off my father in law who passed away :-(.my husband is obviously really attached to the dog and more so because hes part of his dad.....hes about 10 now but wondered if hes too old for breeding as we wanted one of his pups with him being special to us. Were based in Wigan... how do we go about this,? Thanks

Hi & welcome.
Well, you probably won't want to hear this, but don't do it. It won't give you a carbon copy of your boy & most certainly won't bring back memories of your late father-in-law.
My own view is that NOBODY should breed unless it's for the betterment of the breed. No other reason is valid.
Plus, you would need to get all the health checks done (that includes DNA tests & eye tests - not cheap). You would also need to find a female who is a great example of the breed & also has all the health checks in place - that won't be easy because the owners of the bitch will be looking for a stud dog of excellent quality & proven show records.
Then, there is no guarantee that the bitch's owner will let you have a pup!
Please, forget the idea & enjoy your boy's twilight years.
