A quick vid of Dempsey with his boomer ball just a couple of weeks after major stomach surgery! Not very good ones, as they were taken on my phone........

Hahaha! It's the one thing he CAN'T swallow!

No, it was for bloat. Sudden, and scary.

Yes, he did, although he lost a lot of muscle tone over about 10-14 days after the operation. You don't realise how quickly they can go downhill. The bloat was caused by him manically eating loads of grass, but what made him eat the grass, who knows?

That's from a couple of months or so ago. He suddenly & for no reason we can think of started to manically eat grass & if there was no grass, any greenery he could get hold of. Although we stopped him when we could he still took in a LOT of vegetation & his stomach started to swell up. Then he started to gag as though he was trying to be sick, but nothing would come up. So, then we had 1. restless, 2. swollen stomach & 3. trying to be sick but not able - all classic signs of bloat. We took him to the vets, they kept him in but he started to look really poorly so they had to open him up. They expected to find something in his stomach that made him eat the grass in the 1st place, but all they found was the green stuff he'd eaten. So, they cleared it all out, stitched him up & put a pain killer patch on his side, which is why that patch was shaved. Oh, and then they made a claim off the insurance for £2000+!!! Once he'd got over the operation he was back to normal in no time, we still don't know why it happened.

ah no bother caryll i was just wondering, glad hes back to normal. thank god for insurance Laughing
