Cool How to shine with a staffy

Back to canine club today for Opium after a couple of weeks off.
She has graduated to obedience classes so we went this morning.
They are individual sessions and when it was her turn, a dozen spectators suddenly appeared at the fence.
For her first participation, she did very well and I’m very proud of her.

This afternoon, I went back with Nifty for the education class. Nifty should really be in obedience too but I like to only have one to handle at once, for the time being, and Nifty still gets to see other dogs.
We were about 10 of us in the class, the other dogs aged between 7-18 months (Nifty is 2 years old).
I got asked to work Nifty without the lead (amazing the power of swiss cheese in your hand Laughing ) and she was faultless. We got lots of compliments, especially concerning her obedience, and a couple owners even asked for advice !

Cherry on the cake was the discussion with a new couple who arrived for the puppy class with an 11 week old staffy. It is her first dog so it was nice to talk about staffies.

I love my girls and their positive promotion of the breed Love Struck

Oh well done!! They are so intelligent and just love to learn don't they. I think a lot of people don't understand how eager to learn this breed is. They really are such a wonderful little dog and it's lovely to hear of everyone doing so well in training classes.

I’m probably very biased Big Grin  and totally smitten by my girls but I see several owners struggling with retrievers and belgian shepherds when my staffies seem so easy.

I’ve no experience of anything else but staffies certainly do seem to be very quick learners and eager to please, especially for the right treat Laughing . The most important thing is that it’s fun for us all Love Struck

It would be great if your girls could start to change some minds about our lovely breed (and about other related breeds). And now already you've got another in the group, that's fantastic!
