a week of tears
It will be a week tomorrow since our beautiful boy left us and we cant stop crying, this time last week he woke me up early to let him out for a toilet as usual then he went back to bed with my wife to snuggle up to her. I cut the grass so he could have one more sniff around and a lay down in the sunshine as he liked to do, i layed with him for ages.
nearly a week on and the wife and i just cant function properly, everywhere we go in our bungalow reminds us as he was always behind one of us loving us as usual. The place is empty without him, no noises no smells and coming home opening the front door is heart wrenching he meant the world to us. My wife suffers from depression and last year was a hard one for her she had to have 3 months off work and only went back just after Christmas she was doing great up until this happened, I'm doing my best to comfort her but can see her slipping again this breaks my heart too. At first she wouldn't even talk about having another staff but a few days on i think she knows it will be good for both of us to get back into a routine of loving and caring for one maybe 2 of these special little fur babies.
I'm new to this and posted my introduction on the chat group but thought it would be better if i posted this here.
Knowing i can chat to people who know what we are going through brings me comfort so thank you all. Sobbing Steve

Re: a week of tears
Oh, Steve, I'm so sorry. They leave such a huge hole in our lives when they go to sleep for the last time.
But you'll be reunited one day, and in the meantime he'll play with the others at Rainbow Bridge.
There are no words to comfort you right now, but you will eventually be able to look back with smiles rather than tears.

Sending you love & hugs to get you through such a sad time. I dread the day as Katy is my 1st own dog, can't even imagine what you are going through. But I do think giving a home to another staffie would help ease the pain

Oh Steve, so sorry for your pain but I guess those are the symptoms of grieving
Maybe a staffie or 2 might help you move onto brighter days but I’m sure fate will bring the right one(s) onto your path when the time is right.
In the mean time, we’re here to help you in any way we can.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It was obvious how much your boy meant to you both. The pain is just so hard and the loss so severe I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I think the Blue Cross have a helpline to call for people dealing with the grief of losing a pet. It might help your wife. Just remember you gave your boy a wonderful life xx

Re: a week of tears
So very sorry to read your sad news Steve. They become such a huge part of our lives and letting go is really the hardest thing.
Having another to care for and one who will show nothing but unconditional love will, I'm sure, give you both purpose again.
Rest in Peace at Rainbow bridge little fella.
Best wishes to you both.
