RE Hip Dysplasia post
Hi all
we have had issues with our second dog Poppy , she's a 14 month old Amstaff weighing 40kg , she has dysplasia in both front elbows , we tried rest and anti inflammatories to no avail and eventually had ARTHRAMID injections into both joints which appear to be working well , he lameness is all but gone and we have her back to approx 40% usual activity . The hope is that this treatment will relieve the symptoms enough for approx a year so that regular meds will then be enough to keep her happy and active from then on . Ill update as the weeks go by . There is very little ifo out there about Arthramid its mostly studies on race horses .

Re: RE Hip Dysplasia post
Hi
there has been great improvement but not as much as i had hoped for , it takes for for Poppy to go lame and she recovers much quicker , our Vet and I are reviewing everything and we are looking at a 3 period of anti inflammatories to help things along .again when i have any further news .

Re: RE Hip Dysplasia post
Just had my boy (not long turned 5 yrs) operated on for this elbow dysplasia in both elbows approx 3 weeks ago. So far it appears that he is doing great - unfortunately he had a set back due to a strange lump that appeared in his nail just after the op - which I believe occurred when he attacked the cage as he came round from his anesthesia in which he also broke a tooth -gave him great, great pain & needed yhet another op to remove. This was done the Thurs just gone. He gets another check up next Thurs to see how this and his elbows are. Touch wood both will be good results as well as the histology from the lump that will be back by then ugh x
