pooch & mutt dry food

does anyone feed or fed there dog this and if yes how did you find it?

I've used their supplements, but not their food.

We have recently moved misty to their calming and also their digestive kibble. She loves it but then again she'll eat anything!! She is going to toilet more than when she was on raw but that's what we wanted as she was having anal gland issues. I'm happy with the food, she has sardines and veg for breakfast and kibble and veg for lunch and dinner. We can use her snuffle mat with this kibble which is a bonus.

Emma, what did misty have wrong with her anal gland? I’m suspecting hank to be having some troubles with his after reading up on then as his toilet going has been bizarre since we switched him from puppy to adult raw mix.

Anal glands... we know all about them! Chaos had to have his removed 18 months ago.

My vet's opinion is that food has little to do with anal gland problems unless it results in consistently loose stools. If they are consistently loose, it could mean the anal glands can't function properly.

They have been black and soft since we switched the food over to just beef, (I thought the black would just be with him eating just beef now) and often only going every 2/3 days longest he went without going was 4 almost 5 days and even then it isn’t enough poop for that many days not going when he’s eats all his food, he never tries to go and can’t so I didn’t suspect constipation he just doesn’t go and I’m getting concerned, we wormed him thinking it was that as it was due but it hasn’t changed anything it just made his poop not like water as it was very watery before we wormed him.. he’s getting his booster next week so I’m going to get my OH to ask about it while he is there but he doesn’t seem to be concerned about it

Sounds like a good plan, asking the vet while you're there. It does sound a bit odd that he's not going more often.

Which raw mix do you feed? Does it give the percentage of liver content?

Liver can turn the stools black. But my concern would be if it isn't liver, it could be digested blood. It's a good idea to ask the vet when you go - maybe take a stool sample for the vets to analyse?
