Lexi is still doing okay

So after the first vet call and diagnosis (very large tumor on liver or spleen) lexi has been doing quite well! Shes on a low dose of painkillers every day and 6 small meals a day of chicken and rice, and sometimes a sausage or some gravy and spuds. Shes had only one bad day where she vomitted nonstop, but she gets like that sometimes anyway. Shes also now on a probiotic tablet once a day and seems to be doing well She put on over a KG and a half from the first visit, because of the 6 meals vs normal meals a day. Shes a wee tub again, which im happy about.

Going on my holiday in just over a week and she has all the "plans" in place should she get suddenly sicker but im certain my aunt will take good care of her and hopeful she will still be with us when i get back.

An artist friend was very kind and made me a little ceramic Lexi to keep forever, knowing her love of xmas even made a little santa hat. Love it it displays lexis personality perfectly.

I was wondering how you were getting on, must be such a relief that you’ve found food/medication that suits her and that she’s well enough for you to almost enjoy your holiday.

Well we made it on our holiday and back with nothing to report. Lexi is still doing okay, although looking a lot older in just a few weeks. She looks like shes lost some mass, but as her stomach is swelling (due to tumor) we can't really tell re weight and size of belly...so are just going by her attitude at the moment. Which is still good for her age and status! Her appetite is still great

Thanks, me too. My aunt who was dog sitting said that if the worst happened she would not be calling me, so i didn't ruin my holiday. But i spent the whole time thinking "has she not called because of something bad"

I literally didn't know if she was alive until i walked in the door lol

but she seems fine and has not changed much really. So im very hopeful she will see christmas.

I'm so pleased you had your holiday, but can quite relate to the 'no news must mean awful news' stress.
