Just dropped off Chase to be neutered

Gotta phone at two to see how he's doing after waking up and then we're gonna go get him about half four.

His new xxlarge crate is turning up today too which makes me feel a whole lot better knowing he'll have more room for "the cone of shame" bless him.

I'm on a mission to find him the biggest, juiciest bone I can ... I feel rather guilty!

Ah he will be fine. You will then have the hard task of keeping him quiet for a while!!

My vet told me that the cone wouldn't be much use and has recommended a jumper instead, but I've also ordered an inflatable collar, just in case. The fun is going to be trying to keep him calm for a few days, I guess lots of training, brain games and chew toys, but I'm not looking forward to it!

I miss him :-(

He has a chicken flavour extreme chewer nylabone, the biggest toughest Kong I can stuff and freeze and I've saved some boxes I can use as DIY brain toys.

I plan on doing lots of clicker training but the limited walks are what's gonna send him crazy!

Just picked Chase up from the vets.
I've never seen him so quiet bless him.

He has pain relief to take every day until Monday when we take him for a check up.

He'll be treated to scrambled egg tonight for his dinner as it's light on his tummy.

Chase is one lucky little fella (kind of) with all that deliciousness waiting for him

He will be back to normal before you know it!! When Katy was done she was drowsy & whiney that night but wanted to play tug o war the next day

Poor fella. Gus whined for 24 hours but after that it was like nothing had ever happened

Pain relief is good but cuddles are better.

Just caught him licking so had to put the cone on him ... He is not amused!
He just flops on the floor in protest bless him.

He's still in and out of normalcy and a walk to the garden for a wee was too much :-(

I would leave the cone on rather than taking it off sometimes then putting it back on. They do get used to it and it avoids the inevitable struggle of putting it on. It's not for long, Chase, honest!

He slept brilliantly last night and with the cone on.
Took it off this morning so he could eat, the cone seems massive on him!

He's rather swollen and bruised bless him, a lot more than yesterday, but he's had his pain killers so that should help.

He had a slow five minute walk to the village green and back again and is now crying in his bed :-(

Poor little fella! Glad he's back safe and sound and that it all went well He'll be right as rain in no time.

Gizmo was curled up with me for all of the next day. He was a mopey creature Very lucky in that he didn't lick at all, so no collar. The tiny walks slowly got longer and longer and then he was back to rampaging.

Chase is doing okay.
His eating and drinking is back to normal but he's still yet to poop!

He was super excited to see Matt when he came in from work earlier and got great big cuddles and treats.

Apart from a couple of five minute walks and being taken to go toilet he's spent most of the day in his crate which has brought the swelling back down ... Phew!

He's getting used to having the cone on now too!

Hoping to train him to go in and out of his crate on command so he doesn't barge his way out ... A cone in the leg hurts!
