Claws Empty Claws

Do any of you need to clip your staffy's claws ?
If so, how often or at what length ?

Nifty isn't using her claws much as outside is mainly on grass or gravel bridlepaths.

This article https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t41608-trimming-your-dogs-nails will give you all the info you should need if you decide to clip the nails yourself.

Flo needed hers doing due to being on rest recently so we took her to our local pet store that does nail clipping and she was good as gold.

I've only ever done Katy's dew claws as she wears all the others down herself Smile

Gizmo can't get his clipped per say, because their quick is really close to the edge. I have to pop a muzzle on him and use an emery board to file away any splits. The vet mentioned it when we went for an introduction meeting when he was 12 weeks old. I think if nothing's been said then you'll probably be fine to get them clipped.

Nola is the only dog whose claws I've ever had to clip, and then only her fronts. Although most of our walks are in woods and on other footpaths, I do make a point of including some roads on a regular basis to help keep them all trim.

Ive never had to do Lexis claws but we have stone floors inside and tarmac yard so they keep well trimmed.
