Skin Pigmentation Changes and Hair Loss - Is this normal?
Greetings! My dog is a 40% staffie with a pix of bulldog, lab, boxer and other mixed breeds. This summer his hair has thinned considerably. His skin appears fine otherwise. He eats a high-end, grain free dog food + cooked chicken mostly. The vet said it's not to worry but didn't do any blood work (he has not other symptoms as we can tell).
He had mange bad as a neglected pup but had a much thicker coat when we adopted him, April 2016 (at about 18 months of age).
He's always had dark skin spots, but it this summer they are quite pronounced.
What do you think? Should I press the vet to check for other causes? Or is this normal aging and summertime shedding?

A lot of white dogs i do notice have various skin complaints as i noticed with your dog. He doesn't seem to have any noticeable skin complaints apart from the redness but if you are overly concerned contact your vet for advice. In summer white staffies do have black spotd which are more noticeable. Your dogs adorable

What a beautiful dog!!!
He does look a bit red, could it be sunburn affecting his skin? I've never had a white dog but I'm sure I've heard others saying they need Sun cream as they burn easily?.
