Those who have been following my other thread will know that the rescue staffy we went to visit did not work out for us. We basically felt that we are not experienced or confident enough to manage her aversion to other dogs (poor Bella was attacked by six dogs in her past Sad ).

I have been thrown a real curve ball. My husbands work colleague has a staffy and has had one all his life. A friend of his bought a staffy puppy a few weeks ago. He has three small children who are apparently making the puppy's life a misery. They live in a flat and are struggling to manage the puppy and so they have decided to part with her. She is 13 weeks old and apparently very small. They don't want anything for her - they just want her gone poor dog Sad I have seen a picture of her and she just looks so unhappy bless her Sad

We are set on having a staffy as we have just fallen in love with this breed. It has always been our intention to rescue a dog but I am only human and feel very torn about this. They have asked me if I want to go and see her and I don't know what to do.

I've posted on your thread in intros. And then started looking at the staffies listed in the Oldies Club. Love Struck There are a few on there that might be worth following up.

If you take the puppy on isn't that the same as rescuing? How would having an energetic young pup fit with you're household? I guess there's still loads to mull over but I can see why you might be tempted

I'm going to be honest, having a puppy has been hard work especially when Gus was really small. Standing outside at 4 am in the rain waiting for Gus to do his business I often wondered what we had done. The mouthing was hard to deal with and the constant high energy was exhausting. It does get easier and I wouldn't change Gus for the world now but it's important that you know that the next few months will be very demanding and tiring.
