Toilet Training brick wall

So my staff chase is now 13 weeks old and he just keeps weeing and pooing in the house we have pads down and let him out in garden regularly but he keeps doing it in the house yesterday i was out in garden with him for 20mins he came in and peed on floor first thing he did we always tell him no and make it apparent we are not happy with him when he goes inside and make a fuss when he does it outside but he just doesnt seem to be getting it :S also a nightmare on the lead wont walk anyone else have these issues?

some pups take a bit longer than others - and i've often found that the males are slower than females!

i would go back to basics. every half hour or so, take him into the garden & don't make a fuss - just wait & see. if he goes, then treat or fuss him. if he doesn't then just try again later. if he has an accident indoors, just ignore it! obviously clear it up, but don't scold him or act angry etc. he's only doing what comes naturally, after all. when you clear up pee, try using a solution of biological washing powder/liquid so that the smell is banished & he isn't encouraged to go there again.

he WILL get it, but he's still very young.

with the walking on lead, there are a couple of things you can try...

1. as soon as he goes ahead of you, say his name & then a command (heel, close or whatever you choose to use) and do an about turn. if you do this EVERY time he goes ahead of you you'll find he'll start to watch for your change of direction & will stay by your side.

2. as soon as he goes ahead of you, stop dead. just stop & wait for him to come back of his own accord (he'll wonder what you're doing!). the second he gets back to you, use your command word, give him a treat & carry on walking.

both methods can mean that a simple walk can see to take forever, back they do work!!

I agree with the above Danny, just make sure you clean up with a deodorising cleaner. He will get it right

We had the exact same issue with Hank and now he goes to door when he wants out so do his business, we just have the odd accident when we are working , so it does click and it will be a very happy day when you have your first accident free day

I agree with Gilly. It seems like you are outside all the time. Dogs don't have full bladder control till 6 months, it's often a case of being outside at the right time. It can help to write down in a notebook what time pup has peed or poo'd at, after a while you get into a routine from knowing there pattern. Then u can gradually lengthen the time between toilet breaks. I got rid of pad as I felt tjet were giving the idea that toileting inside was the way to go. Although many have success moving them nearer the door

getting alittle better on the lead but i have started taking him to a wooden trail letting him off the lead and walking off and he follows but soon as we on way back he can tell and he literally pulls me all the way back home to the point he is choking himself the nutter!! As for the wee and poo he did his first poo whilst on a walk (what have i become getting excited by this?!) so we are getting there with him. I wanted to upload a pic but i dont know how i did it once and cant remember how haha

Oh I remember hank's first on a walk poo, me and my OH were actually dancing in the street and praising Hank so much
