When to move puppies on to adult food.
Hi folks,
When did you start feeding your pups adult food? Our two are 5 and a half months old weigh 11.2 and 11.5 kilos. We are thinking about starting them on adult food in another two weeks but just thought we would get some advice from the forum first.

It's been a long time for us too Ian. The last time we had a pup this young was way back in the early 1990's and even then he wasn't a Staffy he was a pretty big Border Collie.

It is entirely up to you,but personally I would keep the puppy food going a bit longer yet because the puppy food contains the extra protein etc that is essential for a young growing animal.Tess is still on eukanuba puppy food as well as other meat meals and she is coming up to 10 months.I reckon there is about a month or just over left in the bag and when that is used I will then step up to the adult meal.

Thank you everyone for your comments and advice. I've ordered another months worth of puppy food and I'll see how the boys go.
