Hi all, our 12 week old Staffy pup is going through a spate of nipping and biting, is there any experienced Staffy owners out there with some pointers please ?

Hi, unfortunately staffie pups do like to nip! Rolling Eyes We had 6wks of not taking things off our feet as Katy wouldn't leave them alone!! Start by ignoring your pup completely when the biting starts. Staffies thrive on human contact so hate being ignored. Or you could offer up a high value toy in replacement of what pup is biting, bringing in a leave command whilst offering something better.

Yes,as said all young staffy pups do it,just tell the pup to leave and replace what is being bitten with a chew or toy.
Tess was exactly the same, but at 17 to 20 weeks when those baby teeth are replaced with the adult ones things will change.Tess still likes to play and gnaw at my hands but the pressure used would not even crack an egg.It will stop I promise you.

Yes, I can vividly remember those tiny, pointy teeth sinking into my heels as I riverdanced across the room! We tried everything, but in the end he just stopped doing it at around 5 months, so you may have a couple of months to go yet, but it will stop!
