Walking boots
Can anyone recommend a comfy, but more importantly long lasting pair of walking boots? I do a lot of hard pavement walking with my girl (about 6 miles daily). As she is dog reactive walking in the woods where there are lots of off lead dogs is out of the question for me. I bought a pair of berghaus (lifetime guarantee) boots and they lasted about 5 months before the heal disintegrated! I'm now thinking cheaper the better as my boots wear out so quickly. Anyway any advice would be a great help.

Re: Walking boots
Do you think they'd last more than a year or more walking on hard surfaces. (4-6 miles daily)?

Re: Walking boots
I should think they would last well on hard surfaces, I have to walk on hard surfaces to get to one of our walks. Seem to be hard wearing, I've had mine since April & no wear showing yet!

Re: Walking boots
Hubby bought some cheap ones from Sports Direct. They are Gelert and I think they were only £20.00. They have lasted well but it's only been a few months and he doesn't do as many miles as you do but they are still looking brand new.

Re: Walking boots
I have a pair of Karrimor boots and they've lasted since July last year with very little wear, they are often on sale at M and M direct for as little as £15.

Re: Walking boots
Try army surplus boots
I have a pair of the HAIX boots which are current British Army issue and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned and being military spec they are built to last.
I see that someone has already mentioned the Altberg boots, which are an other current British Army specced boot, however most of the folks I know who are serving swear by the HAIX boots for their practicality and their comfort in all conditions
They can be found on E-bay quite easily ;D
